Reasons why you may have been logged out this time
you have attempted an incorrect password more than 3 times. You will need to wait 15 minutes before trying again. Do not try before 15 minutes, or the clock will restart another 15 minutes. This feature is to prevent your account being hacked.
perhaps it has been more than 30 minutes since you last navigated to a new page. Make sure you save your changes regularly when typing long pages.
a change of IP address on your broadband connection (this happens once per day by some broadband connections). we detect that to prevent your user session being stolen.
we have restarted our server to install an upgrade (you would get some kind of server error in this case, rather than a meaningful logout message.)
perhaps you tried to access a resource you were not permitted to use
the privacy setting in your browsers internet settings is blocking session cookies. Please set it to medium/default.
Are you being logged out on a regular basis?
If you are finding you are being logged out on a regular basis, please try the following options.
Close all browser windows and open a new browser window from your start menu, then login again... If in doubt, restart your computer and modem to force the issue.
Are you being logged out in exactly the same place every time. If so, please contact your local CMS support person and tell them which page you were trying to access, and from which area of the CMS you were in previously.
Make sure you are not logged into the CMS more than once... You should only have 1 CMS login active at any one time.
In Micosoft Internet Explorer, go to "Tools" menu, Internet Options. Look for the Delete browsing history or Temporary internet files option. Delete all your temporary internet files and cookies. Close down all your browser windows and then login in again. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer once as well.
Try a different web browser... eg Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari
Check your privacy settings under the Internet Options menu. Make sure it is set to medium/default so that it is not blocking session cookies.
Make sure you have the latest version of your Internet Browser
Have you got any special web "speedup" software, popup blockers or does your company use a proxy server or cache for your internet access? These systems may impact on our ability to maintain a secure session with your computer.
Do you have any problems with your broadband modem or phone quality. I note that if your modem reconnects to the ISP on a regular basis, then you might get your IP address renewed on a regular basis. If this happens, you will be logged out of our system everytime, as this is one of our security rules there for your benefit.
If all else fails, and you are still having persistent problems, please contact your local support person and let them know the following info:
what type of computer you are using
what web browser software and version (look under the about menu)
what ISP you connect to and method, eg cable, adsl, dialup, corporate connection
